Mermaids the body found in the Philippines

Mermaid myths and legends have risen from earlier attempts to explain the mysteries of human nature and life. Greek mythology speaks of creatures half-woman and half fish lure sailors since centuries ago. Of this mythology evolved into a mermaid legend.

Although they are only the creation of the imagination, but there are some facts about mermaids found in the Nile in 1642 and in Borneo in 1771. In 1908, there was an exhibition in Johannesburg dugong is recognized as the only mermaid original discovery in the world. While the mermaid is published in the U.S. in 1882 was to be a joke, because it proved that it was engineered body of a monkey sewn onto the tail of the salmon.

Early explorers in the colonial era may have seen dugong (mermaid) on its way south through the eastern sea and will tell the story of their encounter creatures half-human half-fish. By some, it is considered part of the fantasy redundant sailors from exhaustion due to prolonged stay in the boat so as to create an image of a mermaid.

Cultures in other countries usually have a variety of different interpretations of this particular creature. In the Philippines they are considered descendants of water spirits or angels that fell from the sky.

Diego de Bobadilla in the 1700s said about dugongs are found in the Philippines: "Some have tried to assert that it is the siren sea fish that can be celebrated among the poets, but they do not have what is called the beauty in the face of the creature.".
